Kashmir has four seasons – Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter – which offer something exclusive in each one.
Spring is one of the most beautiful seasons to visit Kashmir. Even as winter melts away, the valley paints quite a picture with its blooming flowers and lush green landscapes and warm weather.
Temperature: 10°C – 20°C
Tip: It often rains – carry a light raincoat or umbrella along.
Summer is the peak tourist season as travelers flee the plains from the scorching heat. The weather is perfect for adventure activities and sightseeing.
Temperature: 15°C – 30°C
Weather Tip: The high mountains get some rain on and off, so pack your waterproof jacket.
Kashmir becomes a work of art in autumn. The valley starts turning into colors of red, orange, and gold, thereby becoming a heaven for photographers.
Temperature: 10°C – 25°C
Dress in Layers: Since temperatures can drop considerably, layers of clothing are suggested.
If you like snow and adventures, winters would be a good time to visit Kashmir. Thick blankets of snow cover the valley, which would give a perfect landscape with lots of fun and adventure for winter sports.
Temperature: -2°C to 10°C
Weather Tip: Heavy winter clothing, insulated jackets, thermal layers, gloves, and waterproof boots are essential. Lip balm, moisturizer, and sunscreen will help protect against the harsh winter weather.
